Intaglio Etching Ink - Ultramarine is a blue intaglio ink. It delivers a transparent blue with a hint of red.
Unlike our other blues, Ultramarine's pigment is a combination of aluminium and silicate. As an ink its covering and colouring powers are limited, however it is compatible with all pigments.
Phthalocyanine pigments are transparent, highly coloured and very stable.
The typical drying time for our blues is about 10 days, except for Orient Blue & Concentrated Blue which dry in around 20 days.
Charbonnel Etching Ink is 100% natural and non toxic. Every colour is highly pigmented, delivering impressive covering power even after dilution.
Like oil paints, Charbonnel inks absorb oxygen to dry. Depending on the colour, the drying time is between 2 and 3 weeks.
Our inks have been trusted by artists throughout time, from Renoir, Degas, Lautrec and Picasso to present day masters Rauschenberg, Hockney, Diebenkorn and Thiebaud.
